Welcome!
This blog is about fun family days out, mostly in the UK but occasionally abroad too. It includes attraction reviews, ideas for walks and cycle rides and general tips and musings about our family outings. Whilst started as a record of our family trips, I hope it inspires readers to get out and enjoy the best this country has to offer.
Most of my posts are tailored to the age group of our children, who are both teens. However, as a parent I like to enjoy my days out as much as the children, so we visit places which interest adults too. You’ll even find the odd post where we’ve escaped for a day without the children.
We’re definitely an outdoor kind of family. In the summer we enjoy camping, walking and nature. We visit cities and museums too, usually in the winter months when sleeping in a tent loses some of its appeal. You generally won’t find us visiting a stately home but we do love a ruined castle.
The views expressed are those of our family, and the walks and bike rides tailored to our abilities. Use your judgement in considering whether they are right for your family, and remember to check attraction details before visiting.
