50 things to do for my 50th birthday
In case it’s not apparent from the title I’m 50 this year!
I’m not one for parties but I do want to celebrate my half century. I’ve decided on a self indulgent year, doing more of those things I always meant to do, from outdoor activities to attending talks and shows.
Winter walks from Keswick; Blencathra and Ullock Pike, Lake District
Mountains. Mist. Wind. My Twixmas break summed up in three words. Although I should also add fun, sociable and a good way to work off mince pies.
For the 7th year running I spent the days between Christmas and New Year with Country Adventures. And, as always, I loved everything about it; excellent walks, good food and great company.

A day in and around Dungeness, Kent
Dungeness, in late autumn, was everything I expected it to be. A windswept and seemingly barren landscape, punctuated by power lines and quirky houses, with a nuclear power station backdrop. I loved it.
